Eurofins food testing - 3-MCPD fatty acid profiling and analysis
2-monochloropropane-1,2-diol (2-MCPD), 3-monochloropropane,-1,2-diol (3-MCPD) and its related fat soluble forms (also known as 3-MCPD esters), and glycidyl esters (GE) in the form of fatty acid esters found in edible oils, and fats. These process contaminants show a carcinogenic effect in animal experiments.
Eurofins offers the analysis of 3-MCPD fatty acid by analysing the amount of 3-MCPD before and after chemical hydrolysis of the fat contained in a sample.
